Getting There:
Nature Air (800.235.9272; www.natureair.com) and Sansa (www.flysansa.com) have numerous daily flights to Quepos from both airports in San Jose. By car, take the winding and often slow highway over the mountains to Jaco. It's another hour drive south to Quepos and Manuel Antonio.

Lodging:

Dining:
You know you've reached El Avion when you see the plane out front. Walk through the fuselage, now a bar, to the outside terrace that overlooks the green countryside and the Pacific. Then get ready to dine on a casual, tasty meal of whole red snapper or steak. There's also a kid's menu for the under-eight set.

Outfitters:
If you're looking for a naturalist to guide you through Manuel Antonio or want to try ziplining through the canopy, go with the highly reputable Iguana Tours (www.iguanatours.com).
