The Year’s Top Ten Best Family Vacations: Summer 2002

Summer has arrived and the backyard has already reached its maximum entertainment potential. Time to start planning the family vacation—but it need not be laborious chore of previous summers. This year delve into extraordinary travel experiences that will widen your kids eyes while keeping the elders of your crowd sane and smiling. Embrace the wonders of nature and the benefits of an active adventure lifestyle with your kids and save 15% to 50% on adult and youth fares.

Our travel experts have come up with ten amazing-yet-affordable packages that will exorcise those urban/suburban demons. If fishing, nature hikes, swimming, biking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, rainforest tours, horseback rides, or just plain hangin’ out in the out-of-doors will cure what-ails-ya, then hurry, call us today. Trip availability is limited. Oh, and there's no reason to thank us for making your job just a little bit easier—vacations are supposed to offer a touch of respite. Then again, choosing from the adventures highlighted below may offer just the right kind of mental tug-of-war.

COSTA RICA

COSTA RICA FAMILY ADVENTURE
The exotic summer adventure for active families who want to get away at a very affordable price! The itinerary features a local Costa Rican farmers market, a visit to the National Institute of Biodiversity’s INBioparque, an exploration of Tortuguero National Park with motorboat, canoe trips, and hydro-bike rides through the rainforest, and white water rafting on the Pejibaye River. A highlight of the trip is watching the giant Atlantic Green Sea Turtle nest on the Caribbean beaches of Tortuguero Park. You and your children will actually stand a few feet from a 300-pound Green Sea Turtle while she lays 80-100 eggs, covers up her nest, perhaps digs a false nest to throw off predators, and finally, after more than an hour, returns to the sea.
Summer memories like these come easy in the paradise of Costa Rica!

9-Day Trip Departures: June 28; July 19 & August 23
