The itinerary features a local Costa Rican farmers market, a visit to the National Institute of Biodiversity’s INBioparque, an exploration of Tortuguero National Park with motorboat, canoe trips, and hydro-bike rides through the rainforest, and white water rafting on the Pejibaye River. A highlight of the trip is watching the giant Atlantic Green Sea Turtle nest on the Caribbean beaches of Tortuguero Park. You and your children will actually stand a few feet from a 300-pound Green Sea Turtle while she lays 80-100 eggs, covers up her nest, perhaps digs a false nest to throw off predators, and finally, after more than an hour, returns to the sea.
