Requirements Analyst
The Away Network, an Orbitz company, seeks a requirements analyst to become part of our multidisciplinary team. This position will primarily be responsible for understanding, analyzing, and evaluating business and user needs to formulate the development or modification of online information systems in the form of detailed functional requirements. Experience with project management is a plus.
Specific Responsibilities

Work closely with business owners, developers and project managers to deliver written functional requirements for new systems

Write detailed and comprehensive functional requirements in a manner that helps in understanding requirements for complex systems

Present and explain technical information (written and verbal form) in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
Knowledge Requirements
-
College degree, preferably some academic background in Computer Science or Engineering
-
Knowledge of requirements gathering and functional requirements writing
-
Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts
-
At least 2 years of commercial experience in business or systems analysis
Will participate as part of the Away Network technology team to design and implement interactive, database-driven web applications, as well as provide systems support. Away is an open and dynamic environment that requires team work, willingness to teach and learn, as well as collaboration with marketing and business groups.
Required Skills:

Three years of experience programming web applications in a Unix environment

Experience with installation and configuration of web and database servers in a Unix environment

Solid knowledge of web technologies that support database-driven, dynamic content

One year of experience programming in Perl or TCL, and utilizing PL/SQL, in a web environment
-
Solid knowledge of web and other internet technologies, such as HTTP, TCP-IP, web-database connectivity, and browser-server interaction
Desired Skills:

Knowledge of Unix as a power user or systems administrator

Experience with XML and XSLT

Knowledge of Oracle as a developer or administrator
