Fittest Real Athletes 2008

Outside is looking for the fittest people in the countryregular Joes and Janeswith real jobs and busy lives that somehow find time to excel athletically.
Professional athletes show us what's possible. But for every pro who's pushing the upper limits of human performancehelped along by training salaries, sponsorships and lots of free timethere are countless individuals who perform at a high level while balancing a full-time job, family, and training.
We're looking for runners, triathletes, cyclists, nordic skiers, adventure racers, and their kin, but we're not stopping there. Fitness is as much about being at the peak of your game as it is about being in great physical shape, so the sports can include those not normally associated with fitness, like climbing, kayaking, and more.
Nominate someone you know as Outside's Fittest Real Athlete.
Instructions:
Please include these four fields when applying:
1) Tell us about the person's job, age, and place of residence. The person should not be a professional or nearly professional athlete. We don't want to hear about athletes who are paid enough that they get a substantial advantage over everyday athletes. Or athletes that are given substantial amounts of free equipment or coaching.
2) Tell us about the person's average week, including family, volunteering, and workouts. Your nominee should have a regular job like most of our readers. They should work an average amount of hours in a field not directly associated with making them a better athlete.
3) Tell us the athlete's most impressive athletic achievements. Be specific. Include events, finishes, and accomplishments.
4) Include contact information for you and your nominee.
To nominate someone you know, even yourself, write to us at: fittest@Outsidemag.com
We won't be able to respond to all nominations, but we will read every one.
Thanks, and good luck!
