Steve Fisher, Lindgren and his crew decided to tackle the Upper Minus rapids, which explode from underneath mile-wide, 355-foot Victoria Falls in a series of Class V+ drops. "It's one of the most powerful places you could ever stand," says Lindgren, 34, of the point above the falls (pictured here) where they stopped to scout the river. "Those rapids are as big as it gets."
