How does mud affect your race strategy?
Question: Hi Jan! You've been tearing up the cyclocross scene in New England this season, winning everything you've entered by huge margins. But much of the racing has been on dry or frozen ground. Do you expect the conditions in Seattle to be wetter and muddier, and how will that affect your race strategy? Do you think that mountain bike skills (and equipment) will be more of a factor at Nationals? P.S. We are all rooting for you! Bring back that jersey!!!

Harry Wolfson

Jan: I do expect the conditions to be wetter and muddier in Seattle than they have been in New England. However, I like the mud and it adds a whole new dimension to the racing. Skills and being comfortable on your bike will play a bigger role in the race outcome ... and I will be on a cyclocross frame, leaving the mountain bike at home. Thanks for your support and I hope to bring that national jersey home to New England!!
