Scheidt wins laser gold despite DQ
Windsurfer Lai Shan Lee braved a painful jellyfish sting on Tuesday and swept closer to her goal of becoming Hong Kong's first ever Olympic medallist.

A model of consistency in the women's Mistral board competition, Lee was joint leader with defending champion Barbara Kendall of New Zealand after a third and second in the first two heats of the 11-race event.

"She was in quite some pain after the sting but she's not the type to complain,'' said Hong Kong team leader Betrand de Speville.

"She's under a little pressure but she is the sort of person who just goes about her task.''

Greek world champion Nikolaos Kaklamanakis scored a brilliant second heat win to lead in the men's Mistral.
