1997 Raid Gauloises

Team Kelty-Cabela race diary--January 27
Don did not sleep well. He has been suffering from stomach problems as a result of drinking some bad water yesterday. Angelika's feet are feeling better. She is ready to be on the horse. The team started the day with some good-natured fun. Alan Holmes named his horse Al to keep things simple.

The team is hanging on in the top 10, checking in at checkpoint 10 at 4:28 p.m. today. So far they've logged two days, 10 hours, and 28 minutes since the start of the race.
