  1997 Tour de France

Fantasy Tour

[Check the standings]  [See the prizes]

Welcome to Outside Online's Tour de France game, where you are the directeur sportif. The excitement builds now that the Tour has come to a close and German racer Jan Ullrich has ridden into history with the first win for his country in the Tour's 84 years. But back here at Outside Online, we're busy adding up fantasy-team times, and will announce the winners soon.

If your team finishes with the best overall time, you'll ride away with your choice of a Litespeed Titanium bike. Other top finishers walk away with excellent cycling gear or an awesome Outside magazine T-shirt.

OFFICIAL TOUR DE FRANCE GAME RULES

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

2. HOW TO ENTER: Fill out the official online entry form. One entry allowed per person. No typed, faxed, mailed, postcard, or mechanically reproduced entries allowed. No responsibility is assumed for incomplete, late, lost, or misdirected entries. Entries must be received July 13, 1997. Contest ends July 27, 1997.

3. WINNERS: From all eligible entries received, exactly one first-place winner, who will receive his or her choice of one of two Litespeed bikes, will be determined at the end of the 1997 Tour de France based upon the overall combined time for each rider on the player's team. In the event of a tie, the winner will be drawn at random from among the entrants tied for the most points. Additionally, prizes of clothing and/or gear will be awarded to second- through fifth-place finishers based upon cumulative team times. All winners will be notified by e-mail the first week of the following the end of the 1997 Tour de France. Prizes not claimed within 30 days of notification shall be deemed forfeited and may be awarded to next highest scorer at Starwave's discretion. Residents of Canada may be asked to correctly answer a mathematical skill question as an additional requirement of eligibility. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

Employees (and family members) of Starwave, Outside Magazine, Mariah Publications, ESPN, Inc., and ESPN/Starwave Partners, and Starwave's advertising, promotion, and production agencies, are not eligible to win.
