WANTED: Gear Testers

That's right. To supplement all the gear reviews the Outside staff will continue to provide in print and on the web, we're looking to commission our first ever volunteer Gear Army—knowledgeable product testers who will help us evaluate hiking and running shoes, equipment, and apparel. Here's how it will work. If you're up to snuff (see criteria below) and, aren't affiliated, financially or otherwise, with any outdoor gear companies, we'll sign you up and send you a piece of gear. After you've thoroughly tested it, we'll run your review—along with a short bio about you—here on our gear blog, Fresh Loot.

All submissions must include:
1. Your concise (under 100 words) qualifications as a gear tester. Please be specific, and include which products you are qualified and willing to review.
2. A sample review, within your area of expertise, for a product that you currently own and is still on the market. No more than 200 words.

Please include both your qualifications and sample review in the body of the e-mail (no emails with attachments will be accepted). All emails should be sent to geararmy@outsidemag.com
