Australian native Tony Perrottet, author of Off the Deep End: Travels in Forgotten Frontiers (Flamingo/HarperCollins), introduces us to a couple of his favorite Aussie getaways: the Whitsunday Islands and the Coconut Beach Resort at Cape Tribulation.

With New Hampshire-based Meg Lukens Noonan, a frequent contributor to Outside, we go surfcasting off Nantucketand diving at Little Cayman Island. Bob Howells, editor of Outside's annual Buyer's Guide, tested the latest in travel clothing and bags.

Tallahassee resident Bucky McMahon, an Outside correspondent and frequent contributor to dive magazines, shares his diving experiences in the Galßpagos Islands and his light-tackle fishing adventures off Key West.
