Rainier's Steam Caves

Follow the team as they summit Mount Rainier, the largest of the Cascades mountain range in southwestern Washington state. They spent the afternoon of Thursday, August 1, exploring the steam caves at the summit. A sudden, powerful storm forced them to make a dangerous descent in whiteout conditions on Friday, August 2, and made a current report impossible. They are now safely back and have filed a description of the hair-raising return.
